Chronology of cameras Ricoh

The Ricohl Mod.1 is the successor of Gokoku whose reliability was not very good.
These two devices are the first Riken's with focal plane shutter.

Despite its inspiration from the Leica it is a fixed lens camera using 127 film format, at the time the 135 film was still rare in Japan.
The use of a focal plane shutter would have been interesting especially with the use of interchangeable lenses, which will be done on the Ricohl IIB, but the war will stop the development of this range.
It seems that this is the first Riken camera where appears the word "Ricoh" that will become the name of the company more than twenty years later.
